About

My name is Dominic Tramontana. I am currently a software application developer working for a small software company in Michigan. I have always had an interest in (and I believe a natural aptitude for) psychology, art, and computer science. A few years ago, I read an article that seemed to combine my interests into one area. The article was on usability. I became a fan immediately, but only a fan.

I would periodically check Jakob Nielsen’s website and poke around sort of skimming through the articles, but I never thought of it as anything more than an interest. I recently decided that I wanted to become more than just a fan. I wanted to become a student of usability and eventually a usability professional.

The story behind this blog will be my story. It will be a journal of sorts, which documents my learning experiences and observations as I attempt to teach myself usability. As I document what I learn, I hope that my experiences will help others learn right along with me. I also welcome any input from any usability professionals out there.
